SUMMARY:  This role will provide high level insight to the Sales, Marketing and Product Development functions of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Field Application Engineering Team interfaces with customers, internal product development, product marketing and sales teams to foster successful, ongoing business partnerships.  These responsibilities include:

• Being the engineering resource on the sales team to lead technical aspects of the sales cycle
• Providing technical marketing support for the development and implementation of products
• Preparing materials and participate in product presentations
• Providing customer service to solve complex interconnect problems and technical inquiries
• Devising strategies to differentiate our products and solutions from competitors
• Meeting and exceed strategic objectives
• Travel:  30+% domestically, to support customer needs

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or other technical equivalent; Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • The role will draw on either an electronic engineering background (signal transmission, EMI/EMC, signal integrity) and/or a mechanical engineering background (materials, tolerance analysis, CAD tools)
• 2+ year’s current experience in design or applications engineering of electrical hardware components in an interconnect solutions industry
• Experience with providing product marketing and technical support to produce design wins

SKILLS:

• Ability to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerial functions of a business
• Strong organization and presentation skills
• High level of customer service and ability to build relationships with customers
• 3-D Modeling tools such Pro/E and/or SolidWorks
• Microsoft Office Products
