Position Summary: 

1)  This is role is considered an entry level engineering position designed to train a recent graduate/or early career track engineer in new product development for power electrical Interconnects. Examples of our product applications are data center rack architecture, energy storage, factory automation, industrial robots, scooters, industrial vehicles, telecommunications.  The selected candidates will receive one-on-one career development from experienced technical staff in areas of product development, testing, and qualification of new products.

2)  This role is not eligible for Relocation or Visa Sponsorship.

 

Training program will consist of the following areas:

  • Electrical Connector Basics
  • Electrical Power Connectors
  • Simulation (Mechanical & Thermal)
  • Manufacturing Methods and Disciplines (e.g., electroplating, metal stamping, plastic molding, product assembly)
  • Product Testing

Responsibilities (after initial training program):

  • Conceptualize, design, and develop power connector solutions as required by the Business Unit strategic roadmap.
  • Complete engineering deliverables to ensure design verification.
    • Design for Manufacturing
    • Tolerance Analysis
    • Mechanical Simulations
    • DFMEA
    • Create 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.
  • Define a verification and product qualification test plans.
  • Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to support product transfer to manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-3 years of experience in Connector design
  • Must have knowledge of 3D modeling using PTC Creo (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) and/or Solidworks
  • Ability to communicate well with Global Customers and all levels of the organization including Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel, other Engineers (local and global).
  • Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously.
