Position: Computational Engineer

Location: Hamden, CT

 

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters is located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Computational Engineer to join our team at Amphenol Spectra-Strip in Hamden, CT. In this role within our Advanced R&D team, you will contribute to the development of multi-physics models, simulations and analysis techniques for our cable solutions through collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers by applying your expertise in numerical methods and AI/Machine Learning.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies expertise in computational engineering for multi-physics analysis, simulation, and characterization of our cables and peripheral components using Python, Matlab, or similar 
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical experts to implement state-of-the-art analysis techniques into our workflow 
  • Uses AI/ML techniques to support model-data correlation analysis and improvement; prediction, anomaly detection, optimization, and pattern recognition
  • Builds robust data pipelines for AI/ML models to continuously operate on? and stays up to date with advancements in machine learning and AI research

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.S. in Electrical-electronics engineering, Computer Engineering, Math or a related field 
  • Strong background in numerical methods, analysis and simulation tools 
  • Experience in algorithm development and programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) 
  • Experience in data analysis tools and major deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
