Our products enable the electronics revolution and support major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, engineering, and manufacturing locations worldwide and are currently seeking a Global Project Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems (CBS) Global NPI organization based in Valley Green, Pennsylvania.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive technical project execution for global CBS NPI programs from design transfer through EVT, DVT, PVT, qualification, production launch, and mass-production ramp, with emphasis on manufacturing readiness, schedule discipline, issue closure, and cross-site alignment.
o Develop integrated engineering execution plans covering design releases, BOM readiness, tooling, equipment, test, quality, process validation, capacity, build events, qualifications, and production readiness.
o Coordinate Product Engineering, Global NPI, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Test, Automation, Supply Chain, Planning, Operations, and site engineering teams around common milestones and deliverables.
o Lead action-item discipline and maintain technical risks, dependencies, owners, due dates, recovery actions, and escalation criteria.
o Serve as a global technical coordination point for NPI execution, ensuring that design changes, manufacturing constraints, and site readiness are visible and resolved quickly.
• NPI Phase-Gate Execution - Support formal readiness reviews for EVT, DVT, PVT, qualification, pilot, and MP release. Confirm required technical and manufacturing deliverables are complete before each phase transition.
• Build Readiness & Execution - Plan prototype and production build readiness, confirming BOM, drawings, material, tooling, equipment, software, test systems, work instructions, staffing, capacity, and engineering support are available.
• Engineering Change & Configuration Control - Coordinate design revisions, BOM changes, drawing releases, process changes, tooling updates, and test changes. Ensure the correct configuration is communicated and implemented at each manufacturing site.
• Risk, Issue & Recovery Management - Maintain program risk and issue registers; lead containment and technical recovery actions; escalate critical blockers with clear customer/program impact, decision requirements, and closure criteria.
• Manufacturing & Test Readiness - Coordinate process validation, equipment acceptance, test correlation, line qualification, yield improvement, and ramp-readiness activities with the appropriate functional owners.
• Schedule & Dependency Control - Identify critical-path items and cross-functional dependencies, monitor milestone adherence, and coordinate recovery plans when design, material, equipment, supplier, or qualification timing changes.
• Global Site Deployment - Support technical transfers and launches at global manufacturing sites, ensuring lessons learned and validated solutions are incorporated into subsequent deployments.
• Performance Reporting - Prepare concise dashboards and executive updates covering milestone status, readiness, risks, open technical issues, build results, yield/capacity concerns, and recovery actions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of NPI, project engineering, manufacturing engineering, product transfer, or complex technical project experience.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional engineering and manufacturing activities from development through production ramp.
• Working knowledge of drawings, BOMs, process validation, tooling, equipment qualification, test readiness, PFMEA/control plans, and manufacturing launch requirements.
• Strong project-management skills including integrated schedule development, milestone tracking, dependency management, risk management, issue escalation, and action closure.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and project-tracking/scheduling tools; experience with PLM, ERP/MRP, Power BI, or SharePoint is preferred.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to drive accountability across multiple functions, sites, and time zones.
• Demonstrated urgency, organization, and sound technical judgment in a fast-paced NPI environment.
• Travel - Approximately 25-40% domestic and international travel.
