Process Engineering Role

 

Position Summary

Amphenol is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead and support product and manufacturing process transfers between global production facilities. This role will develop transfer and qualification plans, support receiving factories during startup and production ramp-up and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on manufacturing experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively with global, cross-cultural teams. This position requires approximately 50% international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide process engineering leadership for product and manufacturing process relocation projects between global factories.
  • Develop detailed transfer plans, qualification strategies, timelines, and readiness requirements to ensure successful relocations.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, quality, and other teams to coordinate transfer activities and resolve technical issues.
  • Support receiving manufacturing sites during equipment installation, process startup, validation, qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related problems to improve quality, efficiency, reliability, and production output.
  • Monitor transferred processes to ensure they meet established safety, quality, cost, and production requirements.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Identify successful manufacturing practices and help replicate them across global facilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and influence cross-functional teams throughout transfer and improvement projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, project reviews, status reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and company leadership.
  • Maintain clear project documentation and communicate risks, progress, and corrective actions to appropriate teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar engineering professional within a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing processes, production equipment, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement practical manufacturing solutions.
  • Strong project-management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with coworkers and manufacturing teams from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally approximately 50% of the time to Amphenol manufacturing facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with manufacturing processes used in the production of electrical connectors, cable assemblies, or other electromechanical products.
  • Experience leading, influencing, or guiding coworkers through continuous-improvement projects.
  • Experience supporting product or manufacturing process transfers between factories.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, process validation, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience working within a global, multi-site manufacturing organization.
