Position: Instructional Designer

Amphenol TCS is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop engaging, effective learning programs that support employee development, technical training, operational excellence, and organizational growth. This individual will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, human resources, and other subject-matter experts to translate complex information into clear, practical learning experiences.
The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, build relationships across functions, and create training content for employees with varying levels of technical knowledge. This role will support both instructor-led and digital learning for employees across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with subject-matter experts and functional leaders to identify learning needs, define training objectives, and develop effective learning solutions.
- Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced training programs.
- Translate complex technical, manufacturing, engineering, and business information into clear and engaging instructional content.
- Create course materials, presentations, e-learning modules, facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, reference materials, assessments, and instructional videos.
- Apply adult-learning principles and instructional design methodologies, such as ADDIE, to course development.
- Manage instructional design projects from initial needs analysis through development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Conduct interviews, observations, and working sessions with subject-matter experts to capture processes and technical knowledge.
- Develop onboarding and role-based training programs that help employees become productive more quickly.
- Support the documentation and transfer of institutional knowledge, including standard work, best practices, and technical procedures.
- Maintain and update existing training materials to reflect process, product, technology, and organizational changes.
- Administer or support learning content within the company’s learning management system.
- Establish methods for measuring knowledge retention, learner engagement, and training effectiveness.
- Analyze learner feedback and performance data to continuously improve training programs.
- Ensure training materials follow consistent branding, formatting, accessibility, and quality standards.
- Facilitate training sessions, workshops, or train-the-trainer programs as needed.
- Balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
- Collaborate with global teams to adapt training content for different audiences, locations, and learning environments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning and Development, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, training development, corporate learning, or a related area.
- Demonstrated experience developing both instructor-led and digital learning content.
- Working knowledge of instructional design models, adult-learning principles, and training evaluation methods.
- Experience using e-learning development tools,including tracking training completion and assisting with the implementation of an LMS
- Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience working with learning management systems.
- Strong writing, editing, visual communication, and content-organization skills.
- Ability to understand complex information and present it in a clear, concise, learner-friendly format.
- Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with technical experts, business leaders, and employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting an engineering, manufacturing, electronics, technology, or industrial organization.
- Experience developing technical, product, equipment, process, quality, safety, or compliance training.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments, standard work, continuous improvement, and knowledge-management practices.
- Experience creating instructional videos, simulations, graphics, animations, or other multimedia content.
- Experience supporting global or multilingual employee populations.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive learning-design practices.
- Experience facilitating classroom or virtual training.
