About Amphenol Ardent Concepts
Amphenol Ardent Concepts, a division of Amphenol, is a leader in high-performance ganged coaxial connectors, interposers, and test sockets for the semiconductor, quantum computing, and aerospace industries.
About the Role
Amphenol Ardent Concepts is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to own and develop a portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers while building a career in technical sales.
This is a customer-facing, revenue-producing position designed for an early-career engineer or technical professional who is interested in combining engineering, problem solving, relationship development, and business.
The Associate Sales Engineer will have direct responsibility for an assigned portfolio of customers and will work with them to understand technical requirements, identify appropriate Ardent solutions, develop opportunities, coordinate quotations, and support programs from initial inquiry through design-in and production.
A primary objective of the position is account development. The Associate Sales Engineer will be expected not simply to respond to existing demand, but to develop deeper customer relationships, identify additional applications, and grow the value of their assigned accounts over time.
As opportunities become larger or more complex, the Associate Sales Engineer will have access to Territory Sales Managers, Applications Engineering, Product Development, and sales leadership for additional support while continuing to develop their own customer and account-management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop an assigned portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer accounts.
- Serve as a primary commercial contact for assigned customers and build relationships with engineering, procurement, and other customer stakeholders.
- Respond to and qualify inbound customer opportunities.
- Conduct technical discovery to understand customer applications, requirements, challenges, and program timing.
- Develop working knowledge of Ardent's products and recommend appropriate solutions based on customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Applications Engineering and other technical resources when deeper engineering support is required.
- Develop and coordinate quotations and maintain consistent commercial follow-up throughout the sales cycle.
- Proactively follow open opportunities and quotations to understand customer status, competitive position, technical requirements, and next steps.
- Identify additional applications and design-in opportunities within existing accounts.
- Prospect into targeted new customers and applications.
- Develop smaller and emerging customers into larger, more strategic relationships over time.
- Coordinate samples, evaluations, technical documentation, and customer follow-up.
- Maintain accurate customer, contact, opportunity, activity, and forecast information in Salesforce.
- Partner with Territory Sales Managers and sales leadership on larger or more complex opportunities where additional commercial, technical, or executive support can accelerate growth.
- Participate in customer visits, technical meetings, trade shows, and industry events as appropriate.
- Communicate customer feedback and emerging application requirements to Marketing, Applications Engineering, and Product Development.
- Develop increasing independence in account strategy, technical selling, forecasting, and commercial decision-making.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of professional experience. New graduates with relevant technical, internship, co-op, customer-facing, or commercial experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong technical aptitude and interest in learning RF/microwave, electrical interconnect, signal integrity, semiconductor test, and related technologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills and genuine interest in working directly with customers.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear customer communication.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple customers, quotations, opportunities, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with an interest in developing business and building customer relationships.
- Experience with Salesforce or CRM systems is helpful but not required.
- Ability to travel periodically for customer meetings, training, trade shows, and other business activities.
