Title: IT Manager, US Infrastructure & Operations
Location: Raleigh, NC
The IT Manager, US Infrastructure & Operations will lead the development and operation of a secure, reliable, and scalable IT capability across CBS U.S. locations while providing leadership and coordination for selected global shared services, standards, and separation activities that support the broader business technology strategy.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical judgment, operational discipline, M&A / divestiture execution experience, partner management, and the ability to build internal capability while effectively leveraging managed-service providers and specialized technology partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead U.S. IT Infrastructure & Operations across Microsoft/identity, endpoint management, cloud and servers, backup and disaster recovery, networking and site infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, end-user technology, and IT support.
- Develop and maintain the U.S. IT infrastructure and operations roadmap, aligned to the CBS Business Transformation & Technology strategy, while coordinating global shared-service architecture and standards where centralized ownership is required.
- Define and execute the roadmap for establishing an increasingly independent CBS IT capability, including assessment of the current environment, target-state architecture, transition sequencing, resource requirements, risks, investment needs, and business-continuity requirements.
- Lead IT workstreams associated with acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, separations, and integrations, including infrastructure, identity, cybersecurity, systems, end-user technology, data dependencies, vendor transitions, transitional-service dependencies, and cutover planning.
- Establish reliable, scalable, and secure IT operations across CBS U.S. locations, with appropriate standards, service levels, monitoring, support processes, escalation paths, and operational controls.
- Lead cybersecurity operations and technology-risk management for the U.S. CBS environment in coordination with Amphenol corporate resources, business leadership, external security partners, and local IT teams outside the U.S. for shared standards and dependencies.
- Establish and maintain effective identity, access, endpoint, infrastructure, backup, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity practices.
- Partner with U.S. manufacturing sites and functional teams to ensure site infrastructure and technology services appropriately support business and operational requirements; coordinate with local IT teams at international CBS sites on global standards, shared-service dependencies, and separation activities.
- Maintain clear operating boundaries with CBS international sites: local IT teams retain accountability for day-to-day infrastructure, end-user support, and site operations outside the U.S., while this role provides coordination for shared services, common standards, architecture dependencies, and global separation activities.
- Lead the U.S. CBS IT support model, ensuring effective end-user support, hardware lifecycle management, issue resolution, and service performance.
- Build and lead the U.S. CBS IT organization, including workforce planning, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, role clarity, performance management, coaching, development planning, succession planning, and retention of key technical talent.
- Create structured onboarding and capability-development plans for IT team members to ensure strong knowledge of CBS business operations, technology standards, security requirements, architecture, and support expectations.
- Develop technical and leadership capability within the IT team, reduce key-person dependencies, and establish clear ownership for critical services and platforms.
- Manage MSPs, MDR/SOC providers, Microsoft/Azure partners, infrastructure vendors, and other external technology resources, ensuring performance, accountability, knowledge transfer, and commercial effectiveness.
- Develop annual operating and capital requirements for IT Infrastructure & Operations and provide recommendations to the Director, Business Transformation & Technology regarding priorities, investment, resources, and technology risks.
- Establish IT standards, documentation, asset visibility, architecture controls, operational metrics, and management processes necessary to sustain a scalable U.S. IT capability and support consistent global shared-service standards.
- Partner closely with Information Systems & Data, AI Solutions & Automation, and Transformation PMO leadership to ensure infrastructure, security, identity, and technology architecture support the broader CBS digital roadmap.
- Lead IT-related initiatives through the CBS Digital Governance Model, maintaining clear ownership, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and business outcomes.
- Build and develop the internal and external capabilities required to operate and scale U.S. CBS IT effectively while retaining CBS ownership of critical architecture, shared-service decision rights, institutional knowledge, and technology strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Advanced degree or relevant technical/leadership certifications are a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, operations, enterprise technology, or related functions, including demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- Required direct experience leading or materially supporting IT activities associated with at least one acquisition, divestiture, carve-out, business separation, or post-acquisition integration. Experience must include hands-on responsibility for planning and executing technology transition activities, not only advisory exposure.
- Demonstrated experience building and leading technical teams, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies, identity and access management, cloud infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, cybersecurity, backup/disaster recovery, and IT service operations.
- Experience managing managed-service providers, cybersecurity partners, infrastructure vendors, and other external technology partners with clear service, cost, and performance accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to develop target-state infrastructure and operating models, translate business requirements into technology priorities, and lead complex multi-site technology transitions across U.S. operations with coordination across global shared services.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, technology risk, business continuity, and controls appropriate for a global manufacturing environment, with the ability to distinguish between locally owned site operations and centrally governed shared services.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, or other operationally intensive environments is strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, functional leaders, site leadership, executive management, and external partners.
- Strong program leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and change-management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing and evolving organization.
- Ability to travel domestically as required to support U.S. CBS locations and internationally as needed for separation activities, shared-service coordination, major implementations, and partner engagement.
