POSITION SUMMARY:
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are currently seeking a Quality Director to join our Backplane OverPass business unit.
The Backplane OverPass Solutions Business Unit develops high-speed, high-bandwidth interconnect solutions for AI, cloud, networking, server, storage, and data-center platforms. Its portfolio includes advanced connectors, and flyover cable assemblies that move signals off traditional PCB traces to improve signal integrity, reduce loss and heat, and support next-generation system architectures. The business partners globally across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customers to deliver scalable connectivity solutions for leading technology companies.
The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing the global quality strategy for the Backplane OverPass Business Unit. This role ensures that all customer, product, and operational quality requirements are met or exceeded. The Director will serve as the voice of the customer in all matters related to quality, while fostering global quality standards and compliance across sites.

Customer Quality Management
|
- Serve as the primary quality interface for key customers globally, ensuring alignment on expectations, reporting, and audits.
- Manage customer quality requirements through documentation review, process capability/control, and development engineering phase gate management.
- Manage customer complaint resolution, including root cause analysis, corrective action, and long-term improvement plans.
- Monitor customer satisfaction KPIs and lead initiatives to improve product reliability, service responsiveness and performance.
- Prepare and present customer-facing quality performance summaries and improvement roadmaps.
- Responsible for quality planning of customer programs by leading cross functional teams in a global capacity.

Quality Strategy & Governance
|
- Define and implement the global quality vision, objectives, and roadmap.
- Establish, maintain, and evolve quality performance metrics.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual quality reviews with senior leadership, identifying trends, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and customer-specific requirements.

Product & Process Quality Leadership
|
- Manage product and process quality, with a primary focus on new product introduction, to meet customer satisfaction and business unit metrics.
- Perform initial and ongoing assessment of quality events at OEM / CM facilities as required
- Guide quality teams in addressing systemic issues and driving process capability improvements.
- Implement real-time quality dashboards to enhance traceability and process control.
- Lead resolution of complex internal and external quality issues with structured problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC).

Supplier Quality
|
- Collaborate with Global Sourcing and Engineering to qualify and develop suppliers capable of meeting HSIO standards.
- Drive reduction in supplier-related non-conformances through proactive monitoring and engagement.
- Enforce supplier quality management systems, including audits, scorecards, and corrective action protocols.

Team Leadership
|
- Cultivate a culture of quality and accountability through training and coaching.
- Identify and develop future quality leaders
- Lead Lean Six Sigma projects focused on yield, scrap, rework , and cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10-12 years of progressive experience in quality management and manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site or global quality systems.
- Deep understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, FMEA, and root cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC).
- Experience managing strategic relationships with customers and suppliers in complex manufacturing environments; ability to navigate audits, escalations, and long-term improvement plans.
- Experience working in a global organization with sensitivity to cultural and regulatory differences;
- Ability to travel internationally, as required.
