Position Summary:
AI Infrastructure Demonstration Specialist
Data Center Rack Demo Specialist
Rack-Level Architecture Demonstration Specialist
Rack-Scale Development Engineer
Location: Amphenol TCS- Valley Green, PA
Amphenol is seeking a Data Center Rack Demo Specialist to lead the design, construction, and delivery of rack-level architecture demonstrations for event promotion of AI/ML and high-performance data center environments. This role will showcase how Amphenol’s copper and optical interconnect portfolio enables scalable, high-density rack architectures—from server-to-switch connectivity to power, cooling, cabling, and multi-rack cluster designs.
The specialist will create compelling, production-ready demo racks that validate emerging architectures, serve as customer proof points, and accelerate adoption of next-generation interconnect technologies across hyperscale, AI factory, and high-performance computing ecosystems. This position combines hands-on rack integration expertise with technical marketing, partner collaboration, and customer-facing storytelling.
You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Amphenol’s data center rack demonstration environments—from architecture definition and hardware selection through integration, validation, deployment, and presentation. You will translate complex interconnect, networking, power, and thermal concepts into tangible rack-level demonstrations that clearly communicate Amphenol’s differentiated value.
You will collaborate with ecosystem partners, product management, solution architects, and internal engineering and marketing teams to ensure each demo reflects real-world AI/ML deployment requirements and current data center rack-level architecture trends. Industry roles in this space increasingly emphasize high-density racks, power distribution, air and liquid cooling, servers, network equipment, and multi-rack AI deployment considerations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architecture & Demo Development:
- Design, build, configure, and maintain full rack-level demonstration environments showcasing Amphenol copper, optical, power, and high-speed interconnect solutions.
- Select and integrate servers, switches, NICs, accelerators, storage, cabling, power distribution, monitoring, and supporting infrastructure into reliable demonstration racks.
- Validate demo functionality, performance, reliability, and visual presentation before customer briefings, executive visits, roadshows, and trade shows.
- Collaborate with the events and marketing teams to ensure demos are production-ready, reliable, and visually impactful.
- Collaboration & Partner Activation:
- Work with industry partners, customers, and internal teams to ensure interoperability and standards alignment.
- Work with product management, solution architects, field engineers, and sales teams to align demonstrations with customer requirements, product launches, and market priorities.
- Support standards-aligned demonstrations involving Ethernet, PCIe, optical interconnects, high-speed copper, power delivery, and related data center technologies.
- Incorporate customer, partner, and field feedback to continuously improve demo architecture, realism, reliability, and messaging.
- Support major industry events including DesignCon, OFC, OCP Summit, SuperComputing, Nvidia GTC, and other data center and AI-focused conferences.
- Collect and integrate customer and field feedback to continuously improve demonstration effectiveness.
- Operations, Documentation & Communication:
- Manage demo-rack logistics, including hardware procurement coordination, assembly, cabling, software integration, remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and refresh cycles.
- Create and maintain rack elevation diagrams, bills of materials, configuration documentation, test plans, operating procedures, and demo runbooks.
- Ensure demonstrations are portable, repeatable, production-ready, and visually impactful for both in-person and remote delivery.
- Contribute to technical papers, application notes, conference presentations, and public-facing technical content that highlight rack-level architecture innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Experience in an Applications Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Marketing role
- Hands-on experience building, integrating, or supporting data center hardware, servers, network equipment, storage, cabling, or rack-level infrastructure.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with AI/ML cluster architectures, GPU/accelerator systems, scale-out networking, and high-density multi-rack deployments.
- Ability to read and interpret standards documentation, reference designs, rack elevation drawings, and system architecture diagrams.
- Proficiency with project coordination tools and practices, including BOMs, inventory tracking, procurement schedules, action-item management, and cross-functional status reporting.
- Hands-on skills in hardware integration, cable routing, rack assembly, labeling, troubleshooting, and system validation.
- Soft Skills:
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable owning schedules, dependencies, procurement timelines, and event-critical deliverables.
- Exceptional cross-functional coordination and stakeholder-management skills; able to align Marketing and Engineering stakeholders across multiple business units.
- Strong hands-on builder mentality: comfortable physically assembling, cabling, testing, and troubleshooting rack-level systems.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing lab inventory, equipment procurement, asset management, or demonstration logistics.
- Knowledge of liquid cooling, air cooling, rack power design, and thermal considerations for high-density AI infrastructure.
- Prior experience supporting major trade shows, customer roadshows, executive briefings, or large-scale technical demonstrations.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%, domestically.
